‘The Curse of Briar Rose’ is an Oil on Mounted Canvas that measures 80”x 40”. It was part of the duo show, Pandemic Motherhood, at the Bountiful-Davis Art Center.

This painting is about the strange dichotomy between the fast and slow movement of time during the pandemic. Brooke felt that there was a change in time when the pandemic began, it started as a ‘two week’ problem that then continued for years. The beginning shut things down and put everyone in suspended time like Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty) sleeping for hundreds of years. There still seems to be a wait for a prince to wake the world up.
